Tim Lajoice will present a workshop called, the Books Art Workshop
Nathan Wright will present teachings on Native American natural herbal remedies.

Tom Wyers, Museum Director, and Francie Wyers, Assistant Museum Director will be coordinating the Heritage Days events Tom can be reached at 906 430-7350
Lisa Burnside, Youth Education Activities Coordinator with the Sault Tribe will be assisting Tom and Francie with the Saturday activities.
The Grand Entry will take place at 1:00 pm. Drumming and dancing will continue until 4:00 pm.
Museum
We provide both indoor and outdoor exhibits that allow you a glimpse into the Ojibwa culture and the lifestyles of the Huron. This is also where the French Jesuit Mission was located where Father Marquette resided and is the final resting place for Father Jacques Marquette.

Traditional Native American Teachings and St. Ignace History Teachings: July and August
- Monday and Tuesday evenings from 6:00 to 6:30 are Culture Teachings come and learn about the traditional ways of the Ojibwa people and how those teachings are still carried on today. Frances Wyers, Museum Cultural Director and a Member of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians will present these rich cultural teachings. Handouts of segments of the teachings will be available.
- Mondays and Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:00, come and learn about the history of our area as Tom Wyers, Museum Assistant Manager, will share and engage our audience as he shares about the history of St. Ignace and the significance of history as it happened on the site of the Marquette Mission Park. Each person attending will be given a free copy of the St. Ignace Walking Tour, a 40-page booklet that walks locals and visitors through a self-guided tour through downtown St. Ignace and its waterfront boardwalk. The booklet explores stories about the tribes that inhabited the area and the settlers of the 17th and 18th centuries and showcases our rich history. This free booklet is complimentary from the Michilimakinac Historical Society.
Friday Nights at the Museum in the Longhouse 6:00 to 8:00 PM
Come and learn from traditional Elders about the old ways of the Tribal people from our area and how the old teachings have been preserved and have been handed down from generation to generation. The teachings will be presented in our traditional longhouse which represents a dwelling place of the Huron people who set up a village on the site of the Museum of Ojibwa Culture.
